Mustard Betaglucan R25 is a natural plant derived gum and is a water soluble 1,4 linked Beta-D-Glucan isolated from mustard mucilage.  Like other plant gums, Mustard Betaglucan R25 exhibits shear thinning flow behaviour and weak-gel structure.  Mustard Betaglucan R25 can be used the same way as any chemically modified or synthetic gum and can provide notable emulsifying capacity and superior suspension ability to cosmetic formulations.  Mustard Betaglucan R25 can interact synergistically with a number of polysaccharides such as locust bean, guar, xanthan, agar and carrageenan gums resulting in viscosity increases or gel formation.  This kind of synergistic behaviour is valuable as it leads to the development of new textures and thus new product concepts.   (Product Information Sheet)
